BEATA OHL

Chef & Business Owner

Hello & Welcome … A little bit about me:

I was born and raised in Poland, spent two years in Germany, and came to Canada in 1994. I believe I always liked cooking. I remember being only a few years old and making Danishes in a sandbox and mud pies. Then came cooking with my grandmother and mother, and trying new recipes with some of my friends. I have always had fun experimenting with and learning about food.

I formally obtained training through Liaison College, and thanks to great Chef Instructors (Chef Mike Magda, Chef Dean Michaelson, Chef Jan Cooper-Webb), obtained my Chef diploma. That was one of my most enjoyable learning experiences ever.It started off with basic skills, like the proper way to hold and sharpen a knife, proceeded into experimenting with different ingredients, spices and textures, and I ended up learning how to create a masterpiece for the taste buds. I’ve also been trained in proper food handling techniques and hygiene, and have received my national Food Safety Training certificate.

In 2010, I was finally able to make my dream come true. I decided that I will cook not only for my family and friends, which I always enjoy, but I wanted to turn my passion into my job and opened Beata’s Kitchen. We offer fresh or frozen home-style meals available for pick up, as well as catering and chef services for weddings and larger gatherings.

I’m hoping to be able to continue exploring new tastes, flavours and the preparation technique behind them, and to share my skills and knowledge which translates into delicious with my customers.
